If you need help deciding on the publisher for you or locating information about a particular publisher, our new Publisher Assessment and Locator service can help.  This started when some clients who got a huge response from a query weren't sure how to follow-up with the publishers and and decide which one to choose, and we provided some research and personal consulting on agents and editors.  In addition, some clients have asked for address and contact information, after publishers have expressed interest or they have lost this information due to a computer crash.  Now the service is available both to clients and others.   

Here's how it works.  You tell us the names of the editors or publishers who have expressed interest, and we give you a brief overview of that editor and publisher with the following information drawn from various industry sources:

• - Division or Imprint (if any)

• - Title or Position

• - Location (city, state, and address)

• - Phone number

• - Fax number (if available)

• - E-mail (if the editor is open to e-mail queries)

• - Web site (if available)

• - Nonfiction and fiction interests

You receive a report for each editor or publisher with this information, along with tips on how to interpret the results.  Then, you can use this information to help prioritize which publisher to work with, whether you continue to deal with these publishers directly or pass this information on to your agent to follow up.
