Our Dedicated Mail Server

We use a dedicated mail server for sending out our mail, due to occasional problems that affect anyone sending out e-mails, such as spam filters and hackers.  The gateway page for our server at www.newsorg.info.

A key reason for using a dedicated server is that some Internet service providers like AOL block e-mails from dynamic mail servers (the ones that most commercial services use that have multiple users).  Also, most commercial online services limit the number of e-mails going out and are slow at times, since 100-200 people use the same server.

Having this dedicated server means we can provide an additional service -- enabling you to create your own e-mail account using one of our mail server names with a forward to your regular e-mail.  This way you can send out a query under a private name, such as newsorg.info (ie: js@newsorg.info, johns@newsorg.info)   Your e-mail goes out under this name and is forwarded directly to your own e-mail.
