                   NEW E-QUERY APPROACH TRANSFORMS RELATIONSHIPS

OF WRITERS TO EDITORS

E-Query Service Celebrates 2nd Year Anniversary

with Big Deals for Writers With Top Publishers And Agents

Traditionally, writers have needed agents to get deals with top publishers.  But after two years, Publishers and Agents.Net has helped over 200 writers, and many of them have made deals with major publishers, including Random House, Broadway Books, Hyperion, Sourcebooks, AMACOM, Greenwood, and many others.  Even one agent has used this e-query service over 6 times to reach to new editors, and dozens of writers have found agents, some ready to finalize arrangements with a publisher the writer has already contacted.   P&A founder Dr. Gini Graham Scott sold her last five books this way, too, including the just published A Survival Guide for Working with Humans from AMACOM and Do You Look Like Your Dog? from Broadway Books.

The new acceptance of e-mails in the publishing industry is a key reason for the great success of PublishersAndAgents.Net.  Most editors and agents now accept e-mail queries, and many are now receptive to proposals by e-mail.  These changes have transformed the pace of the publishing business, as well as dramatically reduced the costs of pitching manuscripts.

So far, PublishersAndAgents is the only e-query service in the industry, and a major reason for service’s success is that founder and director, Dr. Gini Graham Scott, is a successfully published author of over 40 books, and she limits the service to only one or two clients a day who have compelling, marketable manuscripts.  This way, she can help the client write an effective query letter – the key to getting editors and agents to open and read their e-mails.  Moreover, all mailings are targeted to the particular editors or agents interested in that type of project.  And since editors get at most one or two queries a day, they have been receptive to these e-mails, which go out under the writer’s own e-mail address. Most typically, writers average about 20-60 personal responses from editors and agents, and one client with a highly marketable book and track record got 150 responses for a new Bridget-Jones type humorous diary.  In another case, the wife of a fireman sold her book to one of the biggest publishers, and it is being published in a few months.

Besides connecting book writers with editors and agents,  Publishers And Agents connects screenplay writers with producers, production companies, and film agents through ScreenplayWritersConnection.com, and it connects writers with articles and columns with syndicates, as well as with newspaper lifestyle and feature editors, through NewsMediaConnection.com.

Publishers and Agents was started after Gini Scott initially developed lists of publishers to pitch her own books, and she went digital in 2002.  Not only has she sold five of her books this way, but she found a TV producer for a TV reality/game show based on Do You Look Like Your Dog – Indigo Films in San Rafael, California.
